Fun Videos of the Kids (sorry--no sound)

Madi loves to walk around the house. She loves to carry things with her in her mouth or in her hands. This video I took this morning. She is just so happy and so silly. I love my little gal!

In this video Weston is getting a bowl of cereal for him and Andrew. He did everything by himself, he even got the bowls out of the cupboard all by himself. He is such a helper. I love that he always wants to include Andrew and do things for him. He so sweet. I just love my precious little guys!

What's going on with us...?

Things for us are going really great. Madison is really healthy and strong. She is a great eater and is gaining weight. She gained over 6 ounces in 3 days. The nurse said they normally like to see newborns gain about 5 ounces in a week. So Madi is doing awesome. She has been sleeping pretty good at nights. Waking up every few hours, eating, then going back to sleep. We'll see how long this lasts, but she's doing pretty good. The boys are still being wonderful with Madison. They are very sweet and careful with her. I thought they would be in her face more and bothering her more, but they aren't, which is really nice. They do love to give her kisses and help with bath time and things. They are sweet and wonderful older brothers. I'm also recovering really well. I feel really great. It's been wonderful to have my mom here helping out. She's been so great with the boys and Madison and it has been fun to have her here. Marcus has been really busy trying to make up for the week of school he missed last week. He's great to come home and play with the boys to release their energy and give little Madison snuggles too. He's such a great daddy and husband. Enjoy the pictures. Hope everyone is doing great!

Madison Annette Smith

Madison has finally arrived! She was born on February 11th at 4:24 pm. She weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. She has dark hair and blue eyes and is such a beautiful girl. Weston and Andrew love their baby sister. They wake up wanting to hold her and kiss her. They are really very good with her. I am doing really good. Madison and I were both really healthy so we stayed just one night at the hospital and decided to come home. My mom and Marcus have been such a wonderful help to me since we've been home. We are all so happy to have such a wonderful beautiful little girl in our lives.

Is this really Carolina?

I can't believe this weather. It started to snow during the night and kept snowing for half the day. I don't mind though. Marcus's classes were all canceled so we all just got to stay home and hang out. Great day for us! And even though our little guys have colds, we just couldn't resist letting them play in the snow for at least a little bit. Weston really loved the snow, and he especially loved eating the snow. Andrew didn't care for being out in the cold at first, but he got used to it and ended up having fun.
Aside from our crazy weather, I should say that we were able to watch the inauguration. It was really fun to watch. It is an exciting day and I'm excited to see what happens in the next four years.

What's been going on this week?

Today it finally warmed up enough to play outside, much to the kids relief. They had a lot of fun digging in the sand and going down the slides. In the past week, not much has happened, aside from Marcus starting school. He's enjoying his classes and is preparing for a very busy semester. I have been preparing for Madison to come, trying to get things organized.
Here are some pictures from our outdoor play time.

Our Christmas Break in the West

For our Christmas break we were able to visit our families back west. We had a great time and the kids had Christmas all week long. We have so many fun memories from spending time with our wonderful families. We love them all so much and are grateful we had the opportunity to visit.
